I Vicini di Peppino are a theatre group-laboratory from Turin that combines pop ambitions with research into gestures and the voice, producing a sort of original intercultural expressionism (in the broadest sense of the term). Founded in 2004, at Prospettiva the company presents a play that tackles the issue of fear, entering the inner self of an ordinary person, in her own home, where she lives hypnotised by the television, which is her only companion, losing every contact with the real world. Maintaining the level of entertainment and irony high, Don’t go out Mrs Brown investigates the increasingly thin borderline between real reality and media reality, highlighting the enormous power exerted on the perception of public opinion by the media, and revealing the overlap between news and free thought.
