Kinkaleri tackles a Shakespearian classic with the liberty and rage necessary, at a certain time of life, to grasp a desire to exist beyond every limit. Some days are better than others. Fantasmi da Romeo e Giulietta is a new departure for the company which reveals its intention to shake off an identity that is exhausted to some extent. “Kinkaleri felt the need to undertake a new creative phase by approaching a complex dramatic structure. This confrontation with a classic Shakespearian tragedy that has had endless interpretations, readings and views; a story with inspiration in every field, from the figurative to the musical, the narrative, cinema and traditional choreography. The work is built around the excessive presence of two elementary stage figures interpreted by two performers; a sort of obsession that survives everything else and always returns, something or someone that cannot be forgotten, but is difficult to recognise clearly.
