dittico sulla specie
(parte 2)
You could not be at the Big Bang without dying. You could not observe a supernova or investigate the ‘Primordial soup’ without dying. In the space-time continuum, the conditions of your birth coincide with those of your death”: Teatro Sotterraneo converts Darwin’s Origin of the species into a creative, rhythmic entertainment, taking into account the typical channels of the new generations: videogames, tee-shirts and videos. From the Big Bang to the birth of mankind, including Adam and Eve, in the typical acting style that the audience has become accustomed to, three actors play at interpreting an ape, Charles Darwin and many other characters. “All we can do now is colonise the future,” writes the company. “Science and imagination. Continuous adaptation to the changing habitat. You might have been born in the times of the Plague. You might not have been born at all. You might have been born in a thousand years. You might have been born a Panda. Extinction is collective. The origin is individual, the dominion of probability, unique and unrepeatable. Each one of us has a biological clock, each one runs at its own time. Amen.
