dittico sulla specie
(parte 1)
Narrating the end of the human race and the end of the world in photographs that run rapidly before our eyes. Teatro Sotterraneo proposes Dies Irae -5 episodi intorno alla fine della specie: “The present is a historical moment,” writes the company. “The present is a conviction. The present is above all a perimeter of action. To colonise the past and future we can imagine two opposing archaeologies: one that digs up the past and one that buries the present, in expectation of future excavation.” The spectator observes all the possible crimes that a man can commit to harm his fellow beings, in a scenario that is halfway between the stories of Asimov and the setting of Fahrenheit 451. A lucid, detached glance at the gradual, silent detachment of man from himself. Five episodes that are independent but indispensable to understand the final meaning of the performance, and to note, as if in a report, the voices of a humanity that is wasting away.
