Taking possession once again of the value of the theatre as an antidote to the evils of living, as a place where disease is exposed not to mockery, but to understanding and empathy: [H] L_Dopa. The theatre presents an act that returns dignity to existence and its end, free from fear, offering help but not a solution. The production, based on the reports of neurologist Oliver Sacks, in a dramatic group script adapted by Antonio Latella and Linda Dalisi, is the fruit of a laboratory held in various European countries, involving actors of different nationalities. L_Dopa is the substance administered by Sacks to patients affected by lethargic encephalitis, to wake them from their “sleep” and to bring them back to normality. The narrative structure, divided into three views (the relatives, the disease and the dream) investigates this fantastic world between sleep and wakening and the metamorphosis that this time induces in the characters.
