Sul concetto di volto nel figlio di Dio

The well known director Romeo Castellucci from Romagna does not set out to examine religious or moral issues with this work. As he wrote at the debut of the first part of Sul concetto di volto nel Figlio di Dio. Vol. I, which took place in Essen in July 2010 for the Theater der Welt: “The performance aims to be the first brick of what will be a performance on the concept of the face of Christ, entitled… This is the beginning. I want to meet Christ in his long absence. The face of Christ is not there. I can look at the paintings and statues, I know more than one thousand painters of the past who have passed half of their time reproducing the ineffable, almost invisible, grimace of regret that crossed his lips. And now? He is not there now. What is growing for me is the will. It is combining the will and the face of Christ: I want to be in front of Christ’s face, where what surprises me more than anything is the first part of the sentence: I want.”
