«Per tutti noi, troppo giovani allora, Café Müller è stato una pietra di paragone, – scrive la compagnia – un mito, una frase fatta. A distanza di trent’anni lo prendiamo come punto di partenza. Quell’oggetto oggi è inevitabilmente altro: il tempo trasforma, cancella, confonde e l’idolo, intoccabile e mitizzato, si frantuma, rimangono le sacre macerie. Finalmente le macerie. E allora è possibile camminare tra queste macerie, prenderne in mano una, guardarla da vicino e frantumarla ulteriormente». Rewind. Omaggio a Café Müller di Pina Bausch nasce nel 2008 dal lavoro di Daria Deflorian e Antonio Tagliarini, entrambi performer e registi che a partire da quel lavoro hanno iniziato a firmare insieme alcune creazioni tra cui Blackbird, lettura scenica dal testo di David Harrower e From a to d and back again liberamente ispirato a La filosofia di Andy Warhol.

“For all of us who were too young at the time, Café Müller is a milestone,” writes the company, a legend, a given. Thirty years later, we take it as a starting point. Today that object is inevitably something else: time transforms, cancels and confuses, and the untouchable and mythical idol is shattered, and only the sacred ruins remain. Ruins, finally. So it is possible to walk among these ruins, to pick one up, examine it closely and shatter it further.” Rewind. Tribute to Café Müller by Pina Bausch was created in 2008 by Daria Deflorian and Antonio Tagliarini, two performers and directors who began with that production to work together on a number of creations including Blackbird, a stage reading from the text by David Harrower, and From a to d and back again, freely based on Andy Warhol’s Philosophy.
