Cosa significa Mythobarbital? Il dizionario non riportail termine, ma per noi spettatori è il titolo dell’ultimo spettacolo del collettivo Abattoir Fermé. Mito e barbiturici fanno parte del quotidiano e il loro mix produce lo stordimento di cui sono vittime i protagonisti, folgorati nei gesti banali dalla quotidianità, ma assurti ad una nuova dimensione sovrumana. Abattoir Fermé, compagnia belga, con le sue produzioni ha raggiunto presto la notorietà in Europa. Le performance sono caratterizzate da uno stile originale, eccentrico ed evocativo al contempo, privo di una storia immediata, ma potente nella sua opprimente desolazione.

What does Mythobarbital mean? It is not in the dictionary, but for us spectators it is the title of the latest production from Abattoir Fermé collective. Myths and barbiturates are part of everyday life and mixing them produces the confusion that the characters suffer from, shocked by the banal gestures of daily life, but raised up to a new superhuman dimension. The Belgian company Abattoir Fermé has quickly acquired a name for itself all over Europe with its productions. Performances have an original style, that is both eccentric and evocative, without an obvious story, but powerful in its oppressive desolation.
