Another Sleepy Dusty Delta Day

Created in 2008 by the eclectic and prolific Belgian director and artist Jan Fabre and the Croatian dancer Ivana Jozic, Another Sleepy Dusty Delta Day recently began a new tour around Europe (Russia, France, Germany, Poland, Greece), with the new, talented actress Artemis Stavridi. The production is a choreography for a solo dancer and the title refers to Bobby Gentry’s legendary blues song of 1967, Ode to Billy Joe, a ballad with almost gothic tones that provides the soundtrack for the entire performance. A touching story of death and violence, love and life, abandon and solitude, framed in a stage set that is like an installation, with model trains on the floor and caged birds hanging from the ceiling, and the remains of a deep rift in the spirit of the girl, in love and abandoned.
