When ten years ago we have chosen not to flee from the Veneto province in pursuit of a theater dream, it was not cowardice, for fear of the unknown or italic attachment to mother. There seemed that the harder border to deal was emerging at home. The almost total absence of attention to the contemporary performative language convinced us that the challenge was huge but the goal was worth the effort of the battle. Fighting against the pervasive provincialism of some political thinking has been and remains a difficult task. But to be honest, that also helped to delineate our poetry. A country flaunting the cultural tradition as a political weapon but which reveals itself the most obvious and dangerous lack of interest to the same cultural heritage, we felt increasingly isolated, betrayed, foreigners. We do not offer solutions, but certainly we feel on our skin the effect of the reaction.
